It’s been a month since I posted a hockey design! Sorry about that (I am Canadian, get used to many apologies). Anyways I hope you like this design for Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I chose the Black “flesh wound” Knight because everyone prefers dark-colored jerseys.

The design features a chain mail pattern on the arms and the side of the torso. I added a red trim for some much-needed color.

Trying something new here for the Browncoats! I’ve opted to use the brown from their actual uniforms, and I enlisted the logo with black trim, which resulted in adding black to the color scheme too. The goal was to make a hockey jersey that a military would wear, hence the black name bar and patches that look like flags or ranks.

The neutral brown color really fought me here. I tried many different color combinations for the numbers and stripes, but ultimately I had to limit the use of yellow to the patches, and the white lettering was the only way to provide some contrast

For comparison here is the 3.0 version. Let me know what you think of the 4.0, as a Browncoats offer in the near future is likely.

I’m happy to finally post a frequently-requested Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy design. Not sure why it took so long, but once I settled on a Winnipeg Jets-like approach it all came together quickly.

This won’t be made available*, because I am an evil blogger. But hey, if I win the lottery I will go to town on buying apparel licenses. Wish me luck.

*On second thought, something could be done. We’ll see.

Another baseball design, this time for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. This is a mix of the film’s title logo (which they’ve apparently dropped in favor of this one), with the uniforms worn by the team in the comic books.

I wanted to include all five Guardians, so I illustrated a “floating head” panel logo, much like the ones seen on Marvel covers for a few decades (late-70′s to mid-90′s I think). Star Lord’s insignia and an MLB-esque Rocket Raccoon logo round out the design.

No plans to release this design as-is, but maybe a stripped-down version can be done one day, should there be enough interest.

Speaking of offers, the folks at Geeky Jerseys are continuing their efforts towards adding baseball jerseys to their store. There’s a lot of logistics involved in regards to the manufacture of custom baseball jerseys, so please stay tuned for announcements. Personally I can’t wait, it’s currently too fraking hot out for hockey jerseys!

The second officially-licensed Voltron hockey jersey features a new front shield, gold numbers, and thinner stripes. A lace-up collar has also been added. I really dug the gold color of the cross and crown of the Masterpiece Voltron toy, so I added it everywhere possible.

You’ll have to take my word for now, but the main logo will really shine (figuratively and literally) when it’s embroidered. The outer grey part is silver, and the embroidery will follow a pattern (see below) that looks beveled, so it will look comparable to the aforementioned toy.

I’m really glad to get a chance to refine the official jersey, as the first one has been available for a few years now.

Samurai Jack has been off the air for 10 years, and it feels like a tie-in movie has been in development for twice that, but I digress. I’m a big fan of the show, so I’m happy to finally post some sort of tribute here.

I wasn’t able to use Jack for a hockey jersey, however his outfit is a better fit for a baseball jersey. His eyes reflecting off the sword will look cornball to non-fans of the show, but his eyes being framed like that is one of the show’s big calling cards.

No plans to offer this one, mostly because Samurai Jack is not as popular as I would like (a lot of folks still haven’t heard of it).

At the risk of losing my Canadian citizenship, here is yet another baseball jersey design. This time it’s for Mega Man, a video game icon beloved by everyone except Capcom.

I am one of the few who likes to address him as “The Blue Bomber”, so I decided to use that as a team nickname (Winnipeg already does). I slapped on a few 8-bit sprites and voila, a very nice powder blue jersey in my esteemed opinion.

To complete this jersey a long-sleeve royal blue shirt would be worn underneath to replicate Mega Man’s forearms. A blue ballcap too maybe? Nah.

No plans to release this, but I will see if there’s a t-shirt to be had with my friends at 80′s Tees.

I guess I’m an artist affected by temperature! I can’t bring myself to do hockey stuff nowadays, but baseball? No problem there. So here is yet another baseball design, this time for Final Fantasy. Team Chocobos is obviously based on the St. Louis Cardinals, though I could have tackled another bird-based team just as easily (like the Orioles or Blue Jays).

No plans to release this one, I posted this just for fun.

I’ve received several requests for design that revolved around Umbrella Corp., but I hope this S.T.A.R.S design will do in the meantime. I made home and away sets to accommodate the many different badges worn by Raccoon City’s finest.

I’ll probably come back to this design one day, as the R.P.D. symbol on the front was used as a last resort (despite being faithful to the character designs). I just felt another police shield on the front was overkill (even with the gold badge removed).

No plans to release this one, sorry.

A Ren & Stimpy hockey jersey? How completely random. Not much to say here, I lifted the Mountie uniform and flags from the cartoon and blended them together. No maple leafs are present, something I used to think was impossible for a Canada-centric design.

Zero plans to release this, it’s just for a laugh. However if a beer league team wants to use it that would be awesome!

The AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins brought back their annual “design an alternate jersey” competition after a 3-year hiatus, and I thought I’d take another crack at it (having tried in 2009 and 2011). Problem was, I learned of the contest with about 2 hours left before the deadline hit (last night at 12PM EST, 9PM for me), so I was scrambling like a madman.

The above image is what I would have submitted given a bit more time. This is what I actually sent in:

That’s right, I literally had no time to add a waist stripe, let alone play with different layouts and colors. When I had to quit drawing, it was like the agonizing “pencils down!” moment at the end of a final exam.

Thanks to Hockey Jerseys Concepts and the Griffins for bringing back this contest, they’re always a blast.

I don’t have much to say about the design, instead I’d like to take this opportunity to ask – nay, demand – that Netflix Canada brings back the first 3 seasons of Spongebob Squarepants. Those seasons were classic; everything after 2002 (including the first movie) misses the mark.

This probably won’t be made available, mostly because the last kid-centric design we attempted to offer was yanked after a week.

Recently I was inspired by this Canadian Armed Forces jersey to finally do a jersey design for Bond, James Bond. It’s a mix of MI6 logos and other imagery from the films. I tried to make this as non-infringing as possible, so the people at Sony and MGM don’t get up in my grill.

I was in a pretty weird place when I drew this (weirder than usual). Should I have the Lion and Unicorn hold martinis? Where are all the naked women going to go? Do I dare add a white collar and white cuffs? In the end I kept it simple and posted this, but at what cost?!

I will share one alternate take after the jump.

The only additions are beneath the main logo: two pinned SPECTRE octopuses and a pair of Aston Martin-like wings (UPDATE: I removed the Aston Martin imagery). They are a goofy touch but they balance out the logo. I’ll offer one mea culpa for the shoulder triangle logo; I think I could do a better logo going forward, but it was a last-minute replacement for the ‘007’ logo which I originally had on the shoulders. I changed it because I knew most folks would want that as the jersey number.

Speaking of which, Geeky Jerseys has done 3-digits before (for Trainers and Spartans), so they could probably do it again here if offered. If there’s a good response (likes/comments/shares) I’ll see what I can do.

The folks at HJC are running another jersey design contest, this time for the Quad City Mallards. Thought I’d submit this pugilistic duck design, a homage to the Mighty Ducks, Daffy Duck, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I will be rolling out a bunch of Transformers designs tomorrow or Wednesday, and I refined the recent James Bond design and will be putting together listing art for that soon, so stay tuned for that.

I love the NHL and Transformers, so I’m pleased to merge the two here. My intent is to celebrate Transformers lore, a few teams (like the Detroit Junkions and Pittsburgh Pretenders) aren’t intended to be jabs; in fact DET and PIT were among my first designs and helped inspire me to do the whole league.

A few of these aren’t to my personal liking either (PHI, COL) so maybe one day I’ll revisit them. And if time permits, I might add defunct teams too (QUE, HFD). For now I hope you enjoy!

Here’s an update to the ol’ Mudders jersey! I wanted to make the logos and numbers stand out more this time, hence the inclusion of black and gold. All of the logos are new.

Why all the updates to old designs, you ask? If listings are parked too long in the ‘By Demand’ section (on the Geeky Jerseys’ homepage), then I will do my best to spruce them up. The Ravagers from GOTG are essentially space pirates, so that was the direction I ran with. I did my best to capture the unique wing design from their ships for the main logo. Some could argue the main red should have a purple tint (like the outfits in the film), but that would look so drab, y’know? Here is an alternate take for the numbers.

No immediate plans to offer this one, because the Ravagers’ insignia (shoulder patches) might attract Marvel lawyers.

A baseball jersey design in December? I’m a weirdo, what can I say. Anyways, I’ve gotten many requests to do something Fallout-related (almost as many as something called “Deadpool”), so I’m happy to post this for y’all.

I imagine most of the requests were for a hockey jersey, but that vertical stripe on the front doesn’t work on a hockey jersey, so apologies for this compromise.

On a related note, I appreciate the continued patience by those waiting for baseball designs to be offered. Logistically speaking Geeky Jerseys is ready to make them, we just ran out of baseball season this year to put up an offer. Please hang tight until this spring! In the meantime you can sign-up for a few baseball jersey designs on the GJ website (in the “By Demand” section).
