Back to some regular programming! I’ve already done a couple of Team Fortress 2 designs based on the Heavy and Team Red, but I thought I’d redo Red and add team Blu. I have to say, I really dig the Blu design, it echos the San Diego Chargers somewhat.

If this ever went to production the shoulder patches wouldn’t work, because each team has several versions (to denote character type) and Geeky Jerseys can’t mix and match like that. The shoulder patches could be replaced with the bullseye/valve logo, seen on the back tail of the jersey.

No plans to offer these, sadly. I’d love to do Valve stuff one day (in an official capacity). If you work at Valve, please contact me, I promise I won’t ask about any games that end in ’3′.

Yesterday the folks at Valve announced their new Steam OS, the first of three announcements slated for this week. Of the two remaining announcements, one is guaranteed to be some sort of Steam hardware/console for your living room. The other announcement has to be – HAS TO BE – Half-Life 3, the killer app for both the Steam OS and Console.

If they don’t announce Half-Life 3, I hope these 3 Half-Life hockey jersey designs will be of some consolation. You’ve seen the middle one before but I tweaked it a bit, the other two are all-new: one for Gordon Freeman and the other for the white-clad Elite Overwatch soldiers.

There might be some plans to make one of these available, so stay tuned for that.

The sixth iteration of the Direwolves jersey is here! Looking back at the 5.0 version you can see quite a few differences in the new design. New primary logo, new shoulder patches, new back patch, new number font, and a return to the classic LA Kings jersey style.

The shoulder patches get a “true sigil”, which is a full-body grey Dire Wolf dancing against a white field, along with the house motto.

The new back patch is the league logo, and it features the “You Win Or You Die” slogan. The slogan is intentionally watermarked because A) I didn’t want the design to be too wordy B) it’s something that should be appreciated upon closer inspection, and C) I don’t want schools to ban this jersey! Besides, I want the League name to be the emphasis.

This is the 3rd iteration of the Dragons jersey. I got rid of the grey and opted for a New Jersey Devils look, minus the black shoulder yoke. A new logo and new shoulder patch round out the design.

I know I’ve been promising Targaryens for some time, that’s because I’ve had a design done since March — even sent it to Geeky Jerseys. But I wasn’t happy with it and cancelled it. I really like this design, glad I was able to refine it these past few months.

Next GoT design is for the second Night’s Watch jersey, stay tuned for that.

UPDATE: Direwolves 6.0 is available for the month of October. Targaryen you can sign-up for (if a lot of people do then it will be made available).

This is the second design commissioned by the nice folks at the VASHL (here is the first), a street hockey league that is dedicated to all things Kevin Smith. You can read all about the Leonardo Reapers here.

They wanted something along the lines of Sons of Anarchy, and I don’t blame them. In fact, this post is better served if read with the gravelly voice of Charlie Hunnam in your head.

And yes, your cries for Kevin Smith jerseys are heard. Wheels are slowly turning.

On Saturday I held an informal request poll on my Facebook page, and TMNT (80′s era) was the most popular suggestion. Recently I’ve seen some hockey jerseys based on the Turtles themselves (I can’t seem to find them right now, but they looked like this), so I decided to make a design based on their ride, The Party Wagon.

This is much like the recent Futurama design, which featured characters looking out of the windows of a vehicle-themed jersey.

The Turtles are just placeholder art for now, if this ever went to production some friendlier-looking Turtles would be used in the windows. There are no plans to make this available right now, but stay tuned this spring; we’ll probably try to do something TMNT-inspired for the new movie at that time.

Halloween is a few weeks away, so why not offer up a few all-new Ghostbusters designs?

I’m starting with the Stay Puft jersey, which is a really basic design. The character logo was supposed to be the main logo on the jersey, but it felt redundant in light of the jersey echoing his appearance. So I made a baseball logo and I think it looks great. As a bonus I made a baseball jersey design too (inset).

I’ve already done a few designs for the first Ghostbusters outfit, so I made one based on Ghostbusters 2 and one based on their wheels, the Ecto-1. Yeah I phoned the GB2 jersey in, I’m not a fan of that film or its logo in all honesty; just wanted to fill some space.

Just a quick update for Galaxy Quest, this time 4 designs of varying layouts and colors. The top two are faithful to the uniforms seen in the film, the bottom two are more conventional hockey designs.

Like the Star Trek designs I’d love to see a hockey team wear these with all the different color variants at the same time. I think it could work.

If I had to pick one to offer it would be the Madison one with Ingersol colors. Not sure if there is much interest in a Galaxy Quest jersey, the jerseys are pretty plain overall.

I posted this on Facebook a few weeks ago, but I thought I’d share it here and include a few other designs that have been parked on the drawing board. Above is a jersey based on an album cover, which always stuck me as hockey-ish. Outside of Nevermind, I think Evil Empire is the most iconic cover of the 90′s.

BONUS: I don’t know if it’s because I recently watched The Crow on Netflix, but I thought I’d doodle up some designs based on some of my favorite bands:

If your band had an acronym in the 90′s, I was probably a fan. Apologies for the bleak NIN jersey, I tried a rainbow of colors but it just didn’t take.

A long time ago I posted a design for a Watchmen hockey jersey, and a Chicago beer league team asked to use it. They just started play in their new duds and they look great!

They added some great new details, like an inverse nameplate, Pyramid Int’l logos, and a wraparound slogan (“The End Is Nigh”). I’m geeking-out over these details.

Next up is a design I was asked to make for a kids rec-league team based in Brooklyn. The Bisons recently started their season as well. They’ll also get a few other jersey designs in the not-too-distant future, I look forward to sharing those here.

You might recall that a few months ago I posted some designs commissioned by a diehard Mad Max fan, and the jerseys just got back from the assembly line and they look awesome. I’m partial to the white one.

Every once in a while I’ll be sharing some designs that teams have asked me to make for them. Recently I completed a design for a team called the Battle Hamsters, can’t wait to share that here!

I’m thinking of putting together a new photo gallery section on this site, so if you snapped a pic wearing one of my jersey designs (be it on the ice or at a comic-con), please email me the pic(s) and I will be more than happy to post it here or on my new Tumblr blog (yup, another blog).

It’s been awhile since I posted a new new design, apologies for that. Here are a couple of designs for Street Fighter’s M. Bison. The design on the left is somewhat character accurate, the design on the right is what I’d wear in public.

I’m more of a SFII guy, and Bison feels like the only character that can make the leap to a hockey jersey (to my knowledge). I do have a Mortal Kombat design upcoming as well.

This design is not infringing so it could be offered one day. I just don’t think there is enough interest in all honesty, but please prove me wrong by liking, tweeting, commenting, etc.

It’s Supernatural week here at both of my blogs! Yesterday I posted a Blu-Ray case design, and today I followup with a hockey jersey design. Nothing too fancy, just a few riffs on the iconic Jack Daniels and Chevrolet logos. Theoretically I could add color, probably silver (to match the show’s Impala), but for now I am happy with just black and white to match the timeless Jack Daniels style.

This design was the result of a an informal poll on my Facebook page last month. It took awhile to deliver this design because I decided to watch the show first to get some ideas. I’m now a big fan! For my fellow Canadians the first 8 seasons just arrived on Netflix, do check it out.

This design could potentially be offered if there is enough support, so please like, tweet, and comment to show me you want one. Who knows, maybe a few other factions (Angels, Demons) could get designs if this proves to be popular with fans.

Finally a design for all the hopeless bromantics out there! I opted for a combination of the uniform vest and hat for this one, but there are many ways to approach it as well (white sleeves, large shield on the front, rank stripes on the shoulders), but I’m a sucker for simplicity.

I’ve been holding off on this one for awhile, because I don’t think there’s an appetite for geeks to wear a Police-themed jersey. That said I am happy to finally post something for Cornetto Trilogy fans.

No plans to make this available, sorry! However if your Police or Fire Dept. hockey team is looking for a design please hit me up.

State of Decay is a zombie video game that has taken me by storm lately. It is literally a Walking Dead simulator, an open-world RTS/action game where you have to scavenge to survive, not just for yourself but for a group of fellow survivors. Just an amazing game, warts and all.

I threw this design together to show my appreciation for this great little game. The team name could just as easily be Survivors or Scavengers, but I think Zed Hunters is more satisfying (Zed’s dead, baby).

I won’t spoil things about the game, but there are a few zombie types that make me scream like a little girl and cause me to drop my backpack and scramble to a nearby vehicle or building rooftop.

I’m very happy to finally post a Terminator design, T2 is one of my all-time favorite films. I went for the Harley Davidson look because, well, it looks good on a jersey! Orange is probably the most striking color for sports design.

Also I spent way too much time on this, so I’m glad to post this design and move on. Here are some unused logos:

Originally I was going for a Calgary Flames/Tennessee Titans fiery look, but I wanted to incorporate the team name somehow. Then I envisioned Arnold on a motorcycle being the top part of a Harley Davidson logo. The gun-holding Arnie was too static, then I drew a more dynamic motorcycle Arnie and it still didn’t work. Back to the flaming skull that went in the final Harley logo.

No plans to make this one available! I knew going in that few would want to wear a Motorcycle-themed design.I can’t have geeks intimidating biker gangs even more than usual.

America: puck yeah! This one was tough to do because the Team America uniforms are asymmetrical and, well, pretty gaudy (the camouflage especially), which I’m sure is intentional. The blue sections of the jersey above are supposed to be covered in stars, but I just couldn’t do it man.

No plans to make this one available. I’m just happy to finally post this one, as I can now move on to other stuff.

My first wallpaper for this blog is an NHL ’94 version of Bobby Orr’s famous “leaping” goal from 1970. I drew sprites for Bobby Orr, the goalie, and the player who tripped Orr. I then edited the goal crease and removed some helmets to reflect the 70′s era.

I’m contemplating doing a few others, such as Paul Henderson’s ’72 goal, the USA Miracle on Ice celebration, the Golden Goal from 2010 (Crosby), and that’s all that comes to mind right now.

Really basic design for Chuck, which I just started watching on Netflix Canada. I feel bad for being so late to the show, it is a lot of fun.

I’ll probably revisit this design one day, as I’d like to put something on the shoulders. Anything but the Buy More logo, because the green and yellow clash with the Nerd Herd colors.

Like all NBC Universal designs, this will never be offered because I am an evil blogger. Muahahahahaha! Evil.

Seeing as video games killed the table hockey star*, why not incorporate video game imagery into table hockey? Player sprites from NES Ice Hockey or Blades of Steel or EA’s venerable NHL series could be turned into table hockey players (the flat 2D variety), creating a retro look for the ol’ table top.

The player sprites from NHL 94 (or any EA game from the 16-bit era) would probably be the most ideal for superimposing onto existing table hockey players. The sprites for NES Ice Hockey would probably need their own custom player shapes (as seen above).

I might have to tackle this fun idea one day. I just wish there was a proficient way of making DIY stickers, y’know?

I made an Evangelion design in 2012 and posted it on Facebook, but I looked at it today and it  hurt the eyes so I decided to make a new one. This time I decided to use my “KISS” approach (Keep It Simple, Stupid) and used the current Calgary Flames jerseys as an influence, and I think it turned out okay.

Unfortunately there isn’t much love for anime jerseys so this one probably won’t be offered (unless I’m abducted by a crazed EVA fan and forced to do so, a la Misery).
